Mr. Sun has recently been honored with two prestigious awards at the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Geographers (AAG): the Annual Meeting Award from the Applied Geography Specialty Group and the Peter Gould Paper Competition Award from the Health and Medical Geography Specialty Group. The latter is especially notable, as it is widely regarded as the most prestigious student paper award in health geography. It is an extraordinary accomplishment for an undergraduate student to earn this recognition, given that the competition is typically dominated by graduate students from leading institutions in the US and Canada.
The award-winning paper, titled "Geographic Barriers to Vaccine Access: Association of Travel Time with COVID-19 Vaccine Uptake, Intent, and Perceived Availability in Kenya," was conceptualized, executed, and authored by Mr. Sun under the exceptional mentorship of Professor Cao. This remarkable achievement not only showcases Jiashuo’s outstanding academic rigor and talent but also underscores the exemplary guidance and support provided by Professor Cao.
Let us celebrate this success and continue to encourage and support our students and faculty as they contribute to advancing knowledge in their respective fields.
