We are delighted to share some wonderful news regarding one of our recent PhD graduates, Dr. Jeffrey Chang (supervised by Prof. Nicky Lam). Jeffrey has recently received two highly prestigious recognitions for his exceptional work and dedication to his field.

First, Jeffrey has been awarded the Outstanding Alumnus Award from The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE), subvented by the Education Bureau. This award recognizes his significant contributions to the Academy and Hong Kong society, particularly his efforts in integrating urban climate and citizen science education into secondary school curricula through his start-up company, GeogSTEM Education Limited.

Additionally, Jeffrey has secured a research grant of HK$2.861 million from the prestigious Hong Kong Jockey Club STEM Early Career Research Fellowship. This fellowship will support his continued postdoctoral research on extreme heat and precipitation in urban areas at CUHK's Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.

For those interested, you can read more about his HKAGE award in their official press release here or watch the highlight video of his speech here.

Please join us in congratulating Jeffrey on these remarkable achievements. We are incredibly proud of his success and wish him all the best in his future academic and professional endeavors!
