Prof. Bo Huang, a recipient of the Senior Research Fellow award, has made significant contributions to spatial analytics and sustainable urban development, and has demonstrated exceptional expertise and leadership in his field.
Prof. Huang's research interests span spatial statistics, land use change modelling, satellite image fusion, environmental monitoring, and sustainable land use planning. Notably, his development of the Geographically and Temporally Weighted Regression (GTWR) model has revolutionized spatiotemporal data analysis and gained industry-wide adoption.
Having received the prestigious Chang Jiang Chair Professorship (2016) and multiple awards, including the Gold Medal from the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva 2021 and CPGIS Innovation award 2023, Prof. Huang's research has garnered widespread international acclaim and recognition. His exceptional work on spatiotemporal satellite image fusion earned him a Second-class Award in Natural Sciences from China's Ministry of Education in 2021.
Prof. Huang's Senior Research Fellow award is a testament to his groundbreaking proposal pertaining to the development of evidence-based spatial solutions for carbon neutrality in China’s Greater Bay Area (GBA).
