The Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) has just announced this year's Medals and Awards that "recognize extraordinarily achievement in geographical research, fieldwork, teaching, policy and public engagement." It is with great pleasure that we announce the good news about the great success and accomplishments of our Dr. Junxi Qian has been conferred with the prestigious Gill Memorial Award for his "exceptional early career research with a remarkable track record of achievement". The Royal Geographic Society (with IBG) is a prestigious institution and the best established scholarly organization in geography. The Society confers a series of medals and awards once a year to only a small group of highly selective/distinctive geographers and/or organizations in recognition of their outstanding contributions to geography. It is truly an extraordinary decision for the RGS-IBG to single out our Dr. Qian--a young geographer stationed offshore--as the recipient of the prestigious Gill Memorial Award. For more information, please visit https://www.rgs.org/about/medals-award/2022-awards/.
Please join us to send our warmest congratulations to Dr. Qian for his outstanding research work and incredible achievement bringing honour and distinction to not just his-good-self but HKU Geography as well!
