Abstract:
On the basis of near-real-time activity data, we estimate the global daily, sector-specific, country-level and 1*1 degree CO2 emissions since 2019. These estimates provide a picture of the daily, weekly, and seasonal dynamics of CO2 emissions before and after the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic downturn that it has triggered. The research outcomes result in international research initiative: Carbon Monitor (https://carbonmonitor.org/).
