This is a 14-day field trip to Melbourne and its surrounding areas, starting on June 10th and ending on June 23rd. 10 students participate in this trip guide by Prof. Iaquinto. Students visited various locations in Melbourne and its suburbs, as well as take a day trip to the Great Ocean Road and a winery tour in the Yarra Valley.



During the trip, the group explored various geography themes. First half of the trip is mainly focus on human geography topics. Students explored from downtown to suburb of Melbourne by 4 days’ walking tours, covered the topics including heritage tourism, urban sprawl, housing, and gentrification. Student also enjoyed attending the lecture given by Prof. Mark Wang from University of Melbourne and have some constructive discussion. From Day 8, students visited some natural attractions such as Maits Rest Rainforest, Bay of Martyrs, Hopkins Falls, covered the physical geography topics such as biodiversity and geomorphology.


On the last day of the trip, students had group presentations to summarize and share their thoughts and knowledge from the trip and to learn from each other through discussions. A very memorable trip!
