Abstract:

The GRF is the leading benchmark for research excellence in Hong Kong. Getting the GRF is essential for tenure and promotion at all eight of Hong Kong's publicly funded universities. It is the most prestigious of all the external funding opportunities available. In the first half of this session, Associate Professor Benjamin Iaquinto will share twenty tips for getting the GRF based on what he learned from the 7 attempts it took to get his first GRF, and the 1 attempt it took to get his second GRF. The second half of this session is a hands-on workshop. Bring a draft concept, aims, a past proposal, or simply some questions, and work through them with Prof Iaquinto and other colleagues. Open to all faculty planning a GRF application.
