Professor Canfei HE
Economic Geography Professor and the Dean of the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University, Beijing, China
Professor Canfei HE is the Dean of the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences at Peking University, a Boya Distinguished Professor, and recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Recognized as a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor (2016) by the Ministry of Education and honored with the State Council Special Government Allowance, he holds leadership roles including Chair of the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Steering Committee for Geographical Sciences, Member of the Ministry of Natural Resources’ Science and Technology Advisory Committee, and Vice President of multiple national academic societies such as the Geographical Society of China, National Economic Geography Research Association, and China Regional Science Association. Specializing in economic geography, he serves as Associate Editor for journals like Geographical Research and Scientia Geographica Sinica, Co-Editor-in-Chief of Growth and Change, and Editorial Board Member for over 10 international journals including Economic Geography and Progress in Economic Geography. With 130+ articles in international journals and authored works such as Advanced Economic Geography and Industrial Geography in Contemporary China, his accolades include the Beijing Outstanding Teacher Award, RSA Distinguished Service Award, 9th National Youth Award for Geographical Science and Technology, Second Prize in the Ministry of Education’s 6th Outstanding Scientific Research Achievements, and inclusion in the 2021 “Top Ten Research Advances in Chinese Geographical Science” by the Geographical Society of China.
