It is our great pleasure to announce that we are approaching a truly special milestone — the 95th Anniversary of the Department of Geography at The University of Hong Kong. Since 1931, our Department has shaped generations of geographers who have gone on to make meaningful contributions in academia, government, industry, and communities across Hong Kong and far beyond. The story of these 95 years is, in many ways, your story, and we would be honoured to celebrate it with you.

Share Your Memories

A CALL TO ALUMNI

In tandem with these celebrations, our Editorial Team is producing a Departmental History Book that will trace 95 years of teaching, research, and discovery at HKU Geography. To make this volume truly representative, we warmly invite you to contribute your written memories and historical photographs. Selected submissions will be featured in the history book.

Whether it is a recollection of a memorable field trip, a mentor who shaped your path, a friendship that has lasted decades, or a photograph from your time on campus — every contribution helps us tell a fuller story of our Department.

Please note that submissions close on 10 August 2026 (Monday), to allow time for editorial review and inclusion in the book.

Stay Connected

Please help us reach as many fellow alumni as possible by sharing this invitation with your classmates and friends from HKU Geography. If your contact details have changed, or if you would like to be added to our alumni mailing list, kindly reply to this email or write to us at geog@hku.hk.

We look forward to welcoming you back to campus in November 2026 — and to celebrating together the legacy and future of geography at HKU.
