Advanced Courses

The Department’s undergraduate curriculum has over 60 Level 200 (foundation) courses , Level 300 courses (advanced: offered on an annual or a biennial odd/even year basis) and Level 400 courses (capstone experience and more advanced: offered on an annual basis).

With regard to the Level 300 course offerings:

  • Courses are freely available to Geography/Urban Governance or non-Geography/Urban Governance majors. These courses are categorized with four specific course code prefixes – GEOG31xx, GEOG32xx, GEOG33xx and GEOG34xx – to match the ‘four options of specialization’, namely ‘China & the Pacific Rim’, ‘Environment & Resources’, ‘Tourism & Leisure’ and ‘Urban & Transport’.

  • With regard to the Level 400 course offerings:

    • There are 4 capstone experience courses (with course code prefix – GEOG40xx) which are available to Geography and Urban Governance majors only.
